About Dallas

Dallas Salas is the Content Manager and Journalist at Urban AZ News Journal. Dallas attends Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center- South Mountain, while simultaneously attends South Mountain Community College. He was an intern at Arizona Informant for 7 months. He stands against racial inequality, injustice, and justifiable homicides, he knows what it feels like to be discriminated against as a student in the classroom. “I've literally held my hand up for so long waiting for a teacher to acknowledge me, I thought my arm would fall off! I also know how it feels to do my assignments over and over even though I’ve completed them already, only to be told my teacher lost or misplaced my assignments”. Many people don’t understand the feeling it of discrimination at a young age from teachers, the feeling is unpleasant and overwhelming. He spoke out on this topic at the ESSA Town Hall as one of the panelists.

Dallas has organized events for the youth so they may have positive experiences. He has been a part of the George Gervin Preparatory Academy Student Council, Western Sky Middle School Student Council, Western Sky Middle School National Junior Honor Society, Speak Up Stand Up Save A Life, and Future Farmers of America (Greenhand Treasurer). Currently, he is also part of the A.A.E.C. S.T.E.M. Club (Treasurer), Aquaponics Club, and Future Farmer of America (member), N. A. A. C. P. Maricopa County Youth Council Vice President. He is a representative of freedom, justice, and equality.
